What We Do
(AAAT) is a non-profit organization that provides adaptive sports technology and professional volunteers (tour guides, rehab physicians and nurses, and therapists) as needed for travelers with disabilities.
“I believe that being in the mountains is its own form of therapy.” Says Valerie (Val) Jones, MD, FAAPMR, Executive Director and Founder of AAAT. “I see so many patients with new strokes, spinal cord, and brain injuries who wonder what life will be like going forward. I want to show them the possibilities.”
In August, 2024, Dr. Jones led the first adventure tour to the Swiss alps with three SCI athletes to map trails for future trips. They used adaptive mountain bikes provided by Lasher Sport.
AAAT is now seeking strategic partners, corporate sponsors, and donors who would like to make these amazing tours available to a diverse group of people with varied rehabilitation and recreation goals. See us at booth #1332.
